The discussion area does exactly what it says: provides an area for discussion. The topics are limited slightly in scope and there are some things to know, like how to format your posts and what the approved etiquette is; but all of these are described or referenced here.
Discussion Topics and Organisation
The discussion area is broken down into categories and sub-categories. This keeps discussion clear and organised and allows everyone to follow what's going on. The categories are predefined by our staff here, and can sometimes change to reflect useage of the discussion area. At the moment, they are as follows:
- Categories...
Inside each category or sub-category you can find topics. These are threads of discussion - posts related to a common subject. The basic use of a discussion area, or forum as it is called on some sites, is:
- If you are browsing out of interest you are able to read through many topics and contribute to those which you have something to add to, of value.
- If you have a question or point in mind, you look for an existing topic that discusses your point by browsing and searching. If it doesn't exist you then create the topic in the right area.

Formatting Your Posts
To format your posts we use a system called BB Code. This is relatively widespread, although it does vary a little from site to site. Generally you can type as you normally would. If you want to add some colour, style or specific formatting to your post, then you can start with the BBCode Guide.
